Crocked Holding steps up recovery from horror knee injury alone at Arsenal training as battle back from surgery continues

ROB HOLDING has stepped up his recovery by training alone after undergoing ACL surgery on his knee.

The defender, 23, has been out of action since he ruptured an anterior cruciate ligament during Arsenal's 2-2 draw with Manchester United in December.

The Gunners delighted fans when they shared a clip of the 23-year-old working up a sweat at London Colney.

Arsenal captioned the post: "Rob Holding, you know…. @RobHolding95's been stepping up his recovery in North London."

In the clip, Holding showed off his skills by doing some keepy-uppys before he completed some basic fitness drills.

Fans could not contain their happiness that the former Bolton man is nearing his return to Unai Emery's squad.

One replied: "So good to see him making progress, can't wait to have him back on the pitch."

Another added: "Keep it up bro, we do really miss you. Can't wait for you to keep Shkodran Mustafi on the bench again."

And one simply said: "Great news, can't wait to have him back."

Holding was ruled out for nine months after he sustained the season-ending injury during the league clash at Old Trafford.

But it was reported earlier this year that the club are set to offer him a new contract despite the long-term injury.
