Cristiano Ronaldo’s massive £28m-a-year Juventus wages three times more than any other Serie A player… and more than four other clubs’ total wage bill – The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO'S massive £28million-a-year wages are THREE TIMES bigger than any other Serie A player – and more than four other clubs' total wage bill.

The Juventus star, 34, incredibly takes home more in a single season than some clubs spend on their entire squad's pay packets.

SPAL, Udinese, Brescia and Verona all spent considerably less on their whole squad than Juve do on Ronaldo.

The Serie A giants made a statement in signing the former Real Madrid star in a £99m move in the summer of 2018.

And they've backed up their commitment to the Portuguese legend with a pay-cheque in a league of its own.

Incredibly, Juve account for ten of the top 11 Serie A earners, as the champions spare no expense in their quest for another title.

Romelu Lukaku is the only non-Juventus player in the top ten – with his £6.7m-a-year good for joint-third in the list.

The ex-Manchester United star is level with ex-Chelsea flop Gonzalo Higuain – but still pockets just ONE-THIRD of what Ronaldo does in a single season.

Juventus have developed something of a reputation for landing free signings – hoovering up some of the world's top talent for nothing at the end of their contracts.

But it appears they still have to fork out millions for them… in wages.

In the summer of 2019 alone, Juve brought in Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot for "free" – but they are both taking home £6.3m per year in wages.

Paulo Dybala – linked with both Man Utd and Tottenham this summer – sits just above them in fifth, on £6.5m-a-season.

Miralem Pjanic sits eighth on £5.8m, ahead of Douglas Costa, Mario Mandzukic, Sami Khedira (all Juventus), Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan) and Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli) on £5.4m.

Ronaldo's £28m per year wages go an long way towards Juventus' total bill of £262m-a-season.

The champions' total is more than double that of second-placed Inter Milan (£124m) and also ahead of giants Roma (£112m), AC Milan (£103m) and Napoli (£92m).
