Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus debut draws fourth highest viewing figures ever for Sky Italia

The £99m superstar played 90 minutes as his new side beat Chievo 3-2 at the Stadio Bentegodi.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports the game managed 2,330,234 unique viewers – a 68 per cent rise on last season's opener – and took 11.9 per cent of the audience share.

It was only beaten by Juve's trip to Roma in 2013 and the Derby d’Italia – Juventus vs Inter Milan in 2013 and 2016.

Ronaldo failed to get off the mark in the clash and will hope to strike against Lazio on Saturday.

Sami Khedira gave the Serie A champs the lead before Mariusz Stepinski and Emanuele Giaccherini put Chievo in front.
