Cowboys WR Allen Hurns taken off on stretcher after gruesome ankle injury

ARLINGTON, Texas – Cowboys veteran wide receiver Allen Hurns was carted off the field with an ankle injury halfway through the first quarter of Saturday's wild-card game against the Seahawks.

Hurns was tackled by Seattle strong safety Bradley McDougald after a 14-yard pass from Dak Prescott up the middle. Replay video showed him banging his fist on the ground in pain, his left foot turned outward.

Players from both the Seahawks and Cowboys benches approached Hurns before he was carted off on a stretcher. Cowboys coach Jason Garrett also held Hurns' hand.

Shortly after his exit, Hurns was ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Hurns caught 20 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns in the regular season after signing as a free-agent with the Cowboys in March.

Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley was injured on a 14-yard play one series earlier, limping off the field but returning by drive’s end.
