Michael Jordan, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant. The list of all-time great scorers that have put the ball in the hoop during Chris Paul's lifetime is a lengthy one.
But the Houston Rockets point guard says it's his teammate, reigning MVP James Harden, who sits on the proverbial throne when it comes to offensive talent.
"I say it all the time, he's the best offensive player I've ever seen," Paul said following Houston's 102-97 win over Utah on Monday night — a game in which Harden scored 47 points and hit 15 of his 16 free throws. "Like, seriously. He can drive, he can shoot, he's got ball handling. It's going to be a tough night for you, whoever it is. I don't care what you're doing."
The 15-14 Rockets have underperformed greatly this season, but Harden's individual numbers have actually increased in some categories, including scoring (30.4 points per game last season to 31.5 this season), field-goal percentage (44.9 to 45.4) and 3-point percentage (36.7 to 37.1).
While Paul's comments are certainly up for debate, he isn't the only person to have crowned Harden the best of the best. Charles Barkley made similar comments last April.
"James Harden, to me, might be the most unguardable player I've ever seen," the Hall of Famer said.
