Chelsea wonderkid Reece James trains with first team days after returning from stunning loan spell at Wigan

REECE JAMES was snapped in training with Chelsea's first team today – just days after returning from his loan spell at Wigan.

The right-back, 19, headed back to Cobham this week following his stunning season with Paul Cook's side and will be looking to make an impression before the summer break.

Chelsea are preparing to take on Eintracht Frankfurt in their Europa League semi-final second leg at Stamford Bridge tomorrow – but James will not be involved.

James enjoyed a brilliant campaign at the DW Stadium, playing 44 times in the Championship.

He netted three goals – including a long-range worldie at Bristol City in April – and helped himself to three assists, finishing the season in midfield and with the captain's armband.

And his stellar campaign saw him win the Latics' Player of the Season award, with a stunning 96 PER CENT of the supporters' votes.

With Chelsea's transfer ban appeal rejected by Fifa, there is a strong chance James could be fast-tracked into the first team next season.

And fortunately for James and the fellow youngsters returning from their spells away from Stamford Bridge, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is not afraid to give youth a chance.

Quizzed today on the Chelsea loanees who have been away this season, he refused to give much away.

Sarri said: "Every month I have a report on every player on loan, we have about 45. We need to consider who is ready, but at the moment I want to be ready for the semi-final.

"There are two or three players that are very interesting, but we have to understand the level. I won’t say the names."
