CHELSEA are plotting a move to bring Nathan Ake back to the club, according to reports in Holland.
The defender moved to Bournemouth for £20million in 2017 after five years at Stamford Bridge.
Ake, 24, has been a mainstay of Eddie Howe’s defence this season and his impressive performances have caught the eye of the Premier League big boys.
But Dutch newspaper Telegraaf claim the Blues have a £39million buy-back clause, an option they are seriously exploring this summer.
But any move for Ake depends on overturning their two-window transfer ban.
The club are appealing the ban and are challenging Fifa’s decision not to allow them to sign any players while they fight the sanction.
And while they take on Fifa to add to their squad, Tottenham are also showing interest in Ake.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino could lose Toby Alderweireld if any potential suitors trigger the £25m release clause in place after Spurs extended his contract until 2020.
But the Premier League pair face competition from Napoli the Dutchman if they sell Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Serie A side have already made contact with Ake's agent about the prospect of the defender trying his luck in Italy.
