Chelsea predicted line-up: Hazard, Higuain and Hudson-Odoi to return to starting XI for Liverpool clash after Sarri rang the changes for Slavia Prague tie

EDEN HAZARD and Callum Hudson-Odoi are in line to make a switch return to Chelsea's starting line-up for their Premier League showdown with Liverpool.

Marcos Alonso marked his return from injury by scoring the winner against Slavia Prague in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals on Thursday night.

Gonzalo Higuain has gone four games without a goal but was rested ahead of the clash on Merseyside along with N'Golo Kante, David Luiz, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Hazard also started the 1-0 win on the bench but emerged with half-an-hour still to play, with Maurizio Sarri admitting Chelsea's poor performance twisted his arm.

The 60-year-old said: "At the beginning of the match I wanted him on the bench because I thought that, probably, the match was really very difficult.

"Probably I'd need to use him. Of course, if at the end of the first half we were 1-0, I wouldn't have used him."

Of course he is in my mind for the next match

Hudson-Odoi was left out of the matchday squad entirely for the match in Prague after starting his first league game for under Sarri for the 2-0 win over West Ham.

The Italian hinted the England star was in line to start against the Reds, with Liverpool rumoured to be one of the sides keen on signing him this summer.

He added: "In my opinion, he needed to rest. And so, in this match, he was out. But of course he is in my mind for the next match, but I have to see the last two training (sessions).”

Cesar Azpilicueta is the only Chelsea player to have started in every league game and the Blues vice-captain is out to spoil the party once again against Liverpool.

Chelsea famously beat the Reds at Anfield in 2014 to effectively end their title run when skipper Steven Gerrard fell over and gifted striker Demba Ba a goal.

The Spaniard said: “When we went there they had the party nearly ready because they were smashing every team in Anfield. We arrived with a very clear idea and we did the game we had to do in that moment.

"To beat that team, they were getting very good results, to beat them 2-0 was a very important win for the club, for the fans. Everyone enjoyed that day and hopefully we can replicate it on Sunday.

"Whatever you did in the past is nice because we have had very good results at Anfield, but we have to prove ourselves again on Sunday.

"What we did before is good, but Sunday is another game in a new season."
