Italian news outlet Calciomercato claim Milan chief Leonardo has made contact with the out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder and a move would not be impossible.

So the Blues – who face a two-year transfer ban – could bring in extra funds by offloading the Spaniard, with Milan desperate to add to their injury-plagued side.

Fabregas has been a target for Milan since last season but remained at Stamford Bridge after Maurizio Sarri replaced Antonio Conte this summer.
However, he has made just three sub Premier League appearances this season after Sarri brought in midfield playmaker Jorginho from Napoli.
Despite his lack of game time, Fabregas says he is keen to stay at Stamford Bridge, but would have to take a cut on his reported £160,000 a week, as Sun Sport reported last week.
Last month he said: "I’m very open about it.
“To be honest the club has not said anything. At the end of the day I have eight months left and at the moment I’m gone.
"But I’d love to stay at the club. I’ve been very happy for the last four years and a half. We’ve had great success, won many things.
"I think I have a good understanding with the fans and players. I feel I still have a lot of football left in me but it is now up to the club.”
