Chelsea news: Thibaut Courtois mocked for conceding five goals against Barcelona during Real Madrid's El Clasico defeat

Courtois became public enemy number one when he forced through a summer move to Real Madrid, forcing Maurizio Sarri to spend a world-record £70million on Athletic Bilbao’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.

However, Courtois’ start to life at the Santiago Bernabeu has been far from ideal as the pressure grows on new boss Julen Lopetegui.

Real are eight points off Barcelona in ninth place, and Courtois chose the worse occasion to have another day off between the sticks.

However, Chelsea supporters loved his performance, with many revelling after watching the Blues romp to a 4-0 win over Burnley earlier in the day.

One wrote: “Courtois said the Chelsea stadium is too small. You want big stadium? Okay, I hope he enjoyed the Nou Camp today.”

Another said: “How does it feel Courtois? Never forget what Chelsea did to you. Good luck at Madrid when Conte takes over soon.”

One tweeted: “Courtois conceding five goals and Chelsea win 4-0, the perfect Sunday!”

Another noted: “This is a good day to be a Chelsea fan, the snake Courtois got destroyed in El Clasico by Suarez.”

A final tweet added: “Kepa has conceded four goals in his last eight games for Chelsea. Courtois has conceded five goals this afternoon.”
