Chelsea and Man Utd 'hold transfer talks with Tchouameni' but Monaco midfielder has 'half of Europe' after him

MANCHESTER UNITED and Chelsea have held talks with Aurelien Tchouameni, according to reports.

A deal will be difficult to complete, however, as 'half of Europe' want to sign the highly-rated midfielder.

Tchouameni's stunning performances for AS Monaco have seen his future become a hot topic of discussion going into this summer.

According to Spanish paper Sport, Prem duo United and Chelsea are looking to get in ahead of their rivals and have already held discussions with Tchouameni's representatives.

But in a blow to both of them, they add that the player himself would rather play in LaLiga.

Barcelona are infatuated with the 22-year-old and would love to get a deal done.

With Monaco set to charge as much as £50million, however, Barca will be priced out of a move this time around.

Xavi and Co are set to prioritise signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

And even if their move for the Norwegian fails, they will look to spend their transfer budget on an alternative striker, as well as a centre-back.

Rather than shelling out for Tchouameni, they look all set to sign Franck Kessie on a free transfer from AC Milan instead.

Should the French international, whose Monaco contract runs until 2024, still be available in 2023, however, they will look to make a move then.

Real Madrid are also keen on Tchouameni, despite signing his midfield compatriot Eduardo Camavinga only last year.

Club president Florentino Perez is thought to be prioritising a move for Kylian Mbappe this summer.

But Madrid could also go for Tchouameni, in a blow to their competitors.
