Carragher mocks Neville's Man Utd-Liverpool combined XI for picking 'undisciplined' Paul Pogba

The two clubs renew one of the Premier League's tastiest rivalries this weekend – and naturally the two former players are licking their lips.

On Monday Night Football the Sky Sports pundits were asked to name the best XI from both clubs.

And Neville's selection of Pogba as a holding midfielder had Carragher incredulous.

The former Liverpool captain responded: "Holding what? He's the most undisciplined player of all time!"

Even Neville admitted picking the Frenchman in his team was a rogue choice.

He said: "I didn't pick him with much conviction to be honest with you. I was clutching at straws.

"Matic. Jordan Henderson and James Milner they're in and out of that midfield in terms of playing.

"I wasn't convinced by anything just through what's been happening.

"I just thought it's an opportunity for me to put a United player in to be honest!'

Alongside Pogba in the midfield, Carragher had Georgino Wijnaldum and Naby Keita.

His defence consisted of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Eric Bailly and Andrew Robertson.

David de Gea was in goal, with Mo Salah Roberto Firmino and Anthony Martial bagged the forward positions.

Carragher also went with De Gea in goal, and the same defence as Neville, with the exception of Lovren instead of Bailly.

Keita was joined by Matic and Milner in midfield. And Mane got the nod ahead of Neville's choice of Martial up top.
