Candace Parker announces birth of son with her wife, Anna Petrakova

WNBA star Candace Parker is a mom for the second time. Parker and her wife, Russian player Anna Petrakova, announced the birth of their son on social media Friday.

Airr Larry Petrakov Parker was born Feb. 11, according to Parker’s Instagram account. Parker’s father’s name is Larry. Parker and Petrakova were married in 2019, and Parker announced in December that Petrakova was pregnant. Parker won a WNBA title with the Chicago Sky last October.

Petrakova played basketball for the Russian national team in the 2012 Summer Olympics, and also competed professionally for UMMC Ekaterinburg when Parker was on that Russian team.

Parker won NCAA titles with Tennessee in 2007 and 2008, and she was the WNBA’s top draft pick, Rookie of the Year and MVP in 2008 with the Los Angeles Sparks. With former husband Shelden Williams, Parker had daughter Lailaa in May, 2009. Parker won a second MVP award in 2013 and a WNBA title in 2016 with the Sparks.
