Brit UFC star Craig White dreaming of gorging on lasagna pizzas after cutting THREE stone in just two weeks for fight

The Exmouth welterweight is on the undercard of the Darren Till vs Tyron Woodley title bout in Dallas, Texas, looking for his first UFC win.

The 28-year-old’s May debut against Neil Magny ended in defeat but it was little surprise with the fight taken on two-weeks' notice and needing a THREE STONE weight cut.

Somehow the super-chef and creator of the turkey dinosaur pizza shed the 20kgs required but he was stopped in the first round.

This time the pensions advisor has had a six-week camp and was enjoying burger and chips pub-grub before flying out to America.

And he has his eyes on the ultimate pizza-pasta hybrid once he gets the job done this weekend.

White told SunSport: “That was the second bad cut of my career, four years ago I cut 17kgs in nine days.

“That’s why when I got offered the Magny fight, I knew I could make it. I got it done and it was horrendous but you have to do it to make the weight category.

“This time the run-up has been perfect. After mastering the turkey dinosaur pizza I am already planning a lasagne pizza for after this fight.

”My plan at the minute is to use a pizza base instead of the usual layer of pasta, piled up between the meat, sauce and cheese. I am really looking forward to that.

“I just throw stuff in the shopping trolley and throw it all together, I always try to top whatever I have made the time before.”

White will have coach Dave Matthews in his corner alongside a surprise debutant.

The logistics of running their LD Fighters gym and flying the whole team out to Texas did not work so his dad will be in charge of the towel and spitbucket.

White said: “It will be my dad’s first time in there because he’s been such an inspiration and has supported me more than you could imagine.

“He’s been a great dad and I realised that doing this would mean a lot to him and for me it as a small thing compared to what he has done for me.

“For the Liverpool fight I was able to have gym-mates come up but this longer trip has made it more difficult. My mum and dad were already coming over to watch and he wanted to be a part of it.

“He’s pretty composed, I don’t expect much screaming or shouting. Mum is actually too loud so I don’t need her in the corner.

“She has been sitting up in the gods for some of my fights but I have always been able to hear her in the cage. So it’s like having them all in there.”
