Breeders' Cup 2018: Strong European challenge as Expert Eye leads British challengers for Breeders' Cup Mile

The son of Acclamation is one of 14 entries in the $2,000,000 Breeders' Cup Mile.

The colt, who was an impressive winner of the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, was a close third in the Prix du Moulin in France last month.

Aidan O'Brien will launch a three-pronged attack on the valuable Grade 1.

The record-breaking trainer has Happily, I Can Fly and Gustav Klimt entered up.

The strong European challenge continues with William Haggas's One Master, David Simcock's Lightning Spear and Freddy Head's Polydream.

Entries for the Filly and Mare Turf were also released on Wednesday.

Charlie Appleby has entered top-class three-year-old Wild Illusion in the $2 million Grade 1.

Aidan O'Brien is once again well-represented, courtesy of Athena, Magic Wand and Magical, though the latter's first preference is the Breeders' Cup Turf.

There is also British and Irish interest in the Turf Sprint, worth $1 million.

Karl Burke's Flying Five Stakes winner Havana Grey will tackle the tight turns of Churchill Downs alongside Aidan O'Brien's Lost Treasure.

O'Brien often goes all out at the Breeders' Cup, and he has also entered Anthony Van Dyck and Broome in the Juvenile Turf on 2 November.

Mark Johnston has entered Marie's Diamond, Charlie Appleby is set to run Line Of Duty and Tom Dascombe has nominated Chesham Stakes hero Arthur Kitt.
