Borussia Dortmund sponsor sparks furious response after Twitter quiz asking how many players attacked by 2017 bus bomber remain on the team

Three explosions hit the team bus as it travelled toward the Dortmund Stadium in April last year for a Champions League quarter-final against Monaco.

The explosion left defender Marc Bartra with a broken wrist while a police officer suffered with a loss of hearing.

Such trauma meant it was even more surprising when Dortmund's sponsor published a quiz asking how many players from the attack remain in the team.

Fans responded with anger at the question that was posted on social media.

One described it as "tasteless" and urged that it be removed.

Manschaftbus issued an apology and removed the question, saying: "We would like to apologize to all @BVB fans in this form.

"Of course, the question was unreasonable. We have now removed the question."

Dortmund have not yet commented on the incident.

Meanwhile, Lucien Favre's team is top of the Bundesliga table after seven games.

They are three points ahead of second-place RB Leipzig and four ahead of champions Bayern Munich.
