Bill Belichick press conference: Storms out after Antonio Brown concession

Bill Belichick provided a slight window in to the Patriots’ Antonio Brown thinking, before storming out of his press conference over questions about the receiver.

“I know there are questions about Antonio,” Belichick said at his Friday press conference. “We take all the situations with our team very seriously. There are some things we’re looking into. I’m not going to comment on any of the off-the-field situations.”

Brown has been the focus of an NFL investigation since a civil lawsuit alleging sexual assault and rape was brought forward by trainer Britney Taylor, which went public on Sept. 10, three days after Brown was cut by the Raiders and signed with the Patriots. This week, a second accuser came forward to Sports Illustrated and then claimed on Thursday that Brown had sent her threatening texts after she went public.

Belichick was asked repeatedly about Brown until he offered a warning to stick to football questions as his New England juggernaut prepares for the Jets this week.

He was then asked if any player could become too much of a distraction, and he stormed off.

Brown is expected to play against the Jets on Sunday in his Foxboro debut after he had four catches and a touchdown for the Patriots in their 43-0 romp in Miami.
