Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey and Lesnar vs Rollins confirmed by WWE for WrestleMania 35 on Monday Night RAW

Here are five things we learnt from last night’s edition of Raw.

It’s Ronda Rousey v Becky Lynch at WrestleMania

Raw women’s champ Ronda came out to overwhelming boos and “Becky” chants, which rattled Ronda enough that she stammered all through her promo.

Ronda issued an open challenge which was answered by Bayley for a decent matchup.

Ronda got the win when she locked Bayley in the armbar, but there was a surprise appearance afterwards from women’s Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch.

Becky said she had come looking for “Ronnie” to prove she’s not the Baddest Woman on the Planet.

The Man told Ronda: “I’m going to break your mystique. I’m going to take your title. I’m going to kick your ass in front of the whole world.”

Ronda then fired back with a far better promo that she’d cut earlier on.

Ronda said to Becky: “I could kill you with my bare hands without even breaking a sweat.

“How long have you been ‘The Man’? I’ve been a household name for a decade.”

WWE needs to be careful with how it handles Ronda Rousey leading into Mania. There’s a chance the fans could turn on her permanently in a feud against Becky.

And Seth Rollins will challenge Brock Lesnar (if Seth makes it to Mania after the six F-5s he just took)

Men’s Royal Rumble winner Seth Rollins came out to huge “burn it down” chants (the worst chant in wrestling history?) and fulfilled his childhood ambition by pointing at the sign and saying: “I’m going to WrestleMania!”

Triple H followed and told Seth in had until the end of the night to choose which champion he’d face at Mania – Brock Lesnar or Daniel Bryan.

Dean Ambrose interrupted to tell Seth he’s now a suck-up to Triple H – so Seth beat Ambrose in a one-on-one match.

(If you need further proof that Ambrose is settling back into mediocrity, he also lost a stare-down contest to Nia Jax afterwards.)

At the end of the night, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar warned Rollins off from challenging “The Beast” at WrestleMania.

Rollins defied them and attacked Brock – but Lesnar got the upper hand and nailed Rollins with a whopping six F-5s.

Jeff Jarrett and The Road Dogg are back together

Elias turned heel again last night by telling fans he’d given them a chance and by now they should be giving him a standing ovation.

He was interrupted by WWE legend Jeff Jarrett (who Elias had eliminated in the Royal Rumble) and Jarrett’s one-time “Roadie” the Road Dogg.

It was the first time they’ve been an on-screen pair in 24 years and they sang a duet of their song ‘With My Baby Tonight’.

But true to form Elias smashed them both out with huge guitar shots.

Will legends Double JJ and Road Dogg return again for revenge against Elias? Or was it a one-and-done appearance to get over Elias as a heel?

The heel turn is the right decision – his character doesn’t work as a babyface.

Finn Balor is coming for the Intercontinental Championship

Balor cut a promo on his defeat to Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble.

Limping and in obvious pain, Balor said he’d never felt combined speed and power like Lesnar’s – but he’s still got his head held high despite the loss.

Lashley and Lio Rush then came to the ring and told Balor that he’d last even less time against Intercontinental Champion Lashley.

Finn quickly reminded them that he lasted longer against Lesnar than Lashley himself had lasted in the rumble. Finn said: “What was it, 12 seconds?”

Lashley responded by nailing Finn with two brutal spinebusters. Expect this to start a feud that will eventually see Finn capture the IC title.

Nia Jax & Tamina and the Riott Squad are going to Elimination Chamber

Last night saw the first round of qualifying matches for the Elimination Chamber match to crown the first Women’s Tag Team Champions.

Nia and Tamina took on Alexa Bliss and Mickie James in a passable matchup, which ended when Nia laid out Alexa and Mickie with a two-person Samoan drop.

Later on, Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan of the Riott Squad beat the random pairing of Natalya and Dana Brooke (which was booked just to start a feud between Natalya and Dana).

Next week Sasha Banks and Bayley will take on another random pairing of Nikki Cross and Alicia Fox.

It’s all well and good introducing tag team titles for the women, but doesn’t the women’s division need some actual tag teams first?
