Barcelona would be ‘very happy’ to welcome Paul Pogba, admits Nou Camp star

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has talked up Paul Pogba’s potential switch to the Nou Camp, saying the Catalan giants would be ‘very happy’ to welcome the Frenchman.

Pogba continues to be linked with a move to Spain, although a switch before the end of this month has been ruled out by both clubs.

The World Cup winner’s relationship with Jose Mourinho is still under scrutiny with some suggestions he is struggling to replicate the form he showed in Russia back with his club.

And Pique, who was on the books at Old Trafford as a youngster, admits he would like to see Pogba make the same move.

"I don’t know about his relationship with Mourinho," he told Sport.

"We’ll see in the future, but we would be very happy to see Pogba in Barca’s shirt.

"Pogba is a very good player, but a Manchester United player right now, and we’ll see if anything happens in the future.

"We would be happy to have him here, but Manchester United is his club and, if someone has to say something, it must be them."
