Bachelor In Paradise Finale Part 1 recap

The first night of the two-part Bachelor In Paradise finale included two shocking breakups, and while three couples still remain, no one could have predicted the results from Monday’s show. The season will conclude on Tuesday night, and the cast will return for a tell-all studio show that looks to be explosive.

Our final edition of Bachelor In Paradise Power Rankings will return Wednesday following the last episode of the season.

Rose Ceremony results:

Cassandra picked: Jordan M.

Shushanna picked: Robby

Annaliese picked: Kamil

Astrid picked: Kevin

Krystal picked: Chris

Jenna picked: Jordan

Olivia picked: John

Annaliese

Annaliese officially referred to Kamil as her “boyfriend” during the Rose Ceremony, and later may have foreshadowed what could go down on Tuesday by saying that she’d be devastated if Kamil broke up with her.

When the couple met to discuss whether they wanted to spend the night in a fantasy suite, Annaliese made it clear that she was definitely ready and wanted to spend as much time with Kamil as possible. Kamil had privately been wondering if he was ready, but didn’t bring up any of his fears to Annaliese and simply accepted her invitation.

Int he fantasy suite, Annaliese asked Kamil if she was the right girl for him, and not just the right “type.” Kamil told her that she is the one, and revealed that he’s falling in love with her.

Annaliese has been talking about getting engaged in Paradise since the beginning of the season, and she’ll be expecting a ring before they depart.

Astrid (left the show)

Astrid and Kevin had been the strongest couple in Paradise for the entirety of the show, and seemed to be the only pair with zero question marks. In a shocking twist, Kevin’s second thoughts about the relationship led to an emotional breakup just before a trip to the fantasy suite.

Prior to their final conversation, Astrid told the camera that she felt as if she was living in a bubble with Kevin and was waiting for it to pop. She also revealed that while she doesn’t “need to get engaged,” she wouldn’t say no if Kevin asked.

On the penultimate day in Paradise, Kevin told Astrid that he was having an “actual mental breakdown,” and expressed concern over the prospect of staying in the fantasy suite and picking out an engagement ring the next morning. Kevin told Astrid that he felt he was at “80 percent,” but that some things weren’t “sitting right” with him.

Astrid told Kevin that her mind was “boggled,” and brought up that she asked him not to blindside her at the end of the show. She decided to leave the show, and said in the car ride away from Paradise that Kevin shouldn’t have come on the show if he wasn’t ready to commit.

Kevin and Astrid will have a sit-down interview with Chris Harrison on Tuesday.
