Australia and Pakistan are competing in a T20 series to win a massive cheese biscuit trophy

Australia and Pakistan are competing in the T20 cricket series for a trophy that features what looks like  a giant cheese cracker.

The "unique" prize was held up by the two respective captains Sarfraz Ahmed and Aaron Finch before the teams head into battle tomorrow.

And unsurprisingly, once the photos of the trophy hit social media, there was an outpouring of hilarity.

Even the official account for the International Cricket Council, the ICC, scoffed at the new-look award.

Sharing photos on their account, they wrote: "Giving taking the biscuit a whole new meaning."

They then followed that with a photo of this trophy compared to one of recent years, writing: "You vs the trophy she told you not to worry about."

Shabbeer Syed speculated what the World Cup 2019 Trophy might be like if following suit – by sharing a pile of biscuits.

Misha Wattoo described it as a "very bad trophy", while Udendra Geeganage labelled it "the biscuit cup".

Shakir Qadri posted: "Is this a trophy or a tea-time snack", before adding that it was "a ridiculous design".

Aroosa Awais wrote that "whoever designed this ridiculous trophy should be sacked".

The Series is sponsored by Tuc – hence the wacky biscuit design that the victors will be able to take home with them.
