Arsenal star Petr Cech turns Sunday League linesman after helping Gunners to victory over Newcastle

The Emirates No1, 36, shared a picture on his Instagram of him serving as an assistant referee in a grassroots game yesterday morning.

Cech appeared to be officiating in a girls' Sunday League clash just hours after he played in the 2-1 win over the Toon.

Decked out in civilian clothing it would seem the Arsenal goalkeeper was called into action out of necessity.

But he seemed to embraced the role as he showed-off a snap of himself signalling for offside.

Cech simply captioned the picture: "#sundayleague #grassrootsfootball".

While Cech appeared full of energy to keep up with his busy weekend, it was a different story for Aaron Ramsey.

In fact, the Welsh midfielder had to ask boss Unai Emery to take him off against Newcastle as he was feeling weary.

Ramsey was named in the starting XI but lasted 80 minutes until he was replaced by Danny Welbeck.

The midfielder, 27, played 180 minutes for Wales over the international break including scoring against Ireland in the 4-1 win.
