Arsenal refuse Tottenham full ticket allocation for Carabao Cup quarter-final on safety grounds

The Gunners host their bitter rivals in the cup next month but following discussions with their Safety Advisory Group, Arsenal have denied Spurs fans their full allocation.

The visitors are entitled to more seats than a usual Premier League match with away teams being permitted 10 per cent of the home side's capacity in both cup competitions.

Although Spurs revealed they applied for the maximum allocation of 6,000 tickets, Arsenal refused and offered slightly less.

Following discussions with their Safety Advisory Group, the club announced they would only be providing Tottenham with 5,233 (8.68 per cent) due to issues with segregation at the Emirates.

Despite the tasty tie being a local derby, The Gunners have kept prices low in line with other fixtures in the competitions this seasons with lower tier access priced at just £10.

The cup clash on December 19 comes less than three weeks after the sides meet for the first time this season, in the league.

Unai Emery squares off against his North-London counterpart Mauricio Pochettino in the Premier League on December 2.

Tottenham are set to return the favour exactly three months later, at their new rebuilt White Hart Lane on March 2, but this has yet to be confirmed.

The stadium, which was due to be ready in September, has suffered continuous delays and former striker Paul Miller has let slip that it won't be finished anytime soon.

"When it's ready, it's ready,” he said. “The expectancy was it would be fired up and for whatever reason, it didn't get done. But it will be done very soon.

"You see it every day on the social media. It looks magnificent.

"I'm sure it's not a long way off. I've certainly been informed within the club that we're looking at February as the start date.

"It still gives us three months but if you look at when we came out of there, it will have been 21 months.”
