Arsenal defender Julio Pleguezuelo, signed from Barcelona, has offers from Spain

The 21-year-old was handed his first team debut in the Gunners' EFL Cup clash against Blackpool at the end of October.

But the club have let his contract run down and his current deal expires in the summer.

Pleguezuelo, who had loan spells at Spanish sides Mallorca and Gimnastic, revealed his ambitions to remain at the Emirates and establish himself in the side.

However he admits returning to Spain is an option and claims he has offers on the table.

Speaking to Marca, Pleguezuelo revealed: "I’m waiting to see how everything develops. I have to talk to my representative. My goal is to stay at Arsenal.

“I would like to continue and, if it is not here in England. I have offers in Spain, but at the moment it’s not my idea to go back.”

Pleguezuelo spent his youth career with Atletico Madrid and Barcelona before making the switch to the Gunners.

Meanwhile the Gunners are in talks with Sampdoria over a potential move to sign Joachim Andersen.

The 22-year-old has won rave reviews since joining the Serie A club from FC Twente two summers ago – and, rated at £25million, he has also attracted interest from Manchester United.
