Arsenal and Spurs fined by FA for failing to control players in league clash

The Gunners bagged the points thanks to a 4-2 victory on December 2- but there were several flashpoints throughout.

In particular players from both sides clashed when Eric Dier put his finger to his lips in front of the Gunners' supporters after scoring the first-half equaliser.

This saw the likes of Dele Alli, Hector Bellerin, Shkodran Mustafi and Dier himself involved in a heated shoving match by the sideline.

A statement from the FA reads: "Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been fined £45,000 and £50,000 respectively after both clubs admitted an FA charge of failing to ensure that their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion.

"It relates to their game on December 2, 2018."

It was old-fashioned and very English clash at the Emirates, with eight yellows shared between these two warring sides, plus a red late on for Spurs centre-half Jan Vertonghen.

The game will also be remembered for another shocking incident – when a Tottenham fan threw a banana at Gunners striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

AND IT KICKED OFF IN THE CARABAO CUP TOO

DELE ALLI was struck on the head by a missile during Tottenham's 2-0 Carabao Cup victory over Arsenal at the Emirates.

Now, new footage appears to show a kid launching the bottle on to the Emirates turf, while seven supporters were reportedly arrested last night.

The clip was uploaded to Twitter, captioned: "No Christmas presents for the kid who pings Dele Alli in the head with a bottle."

Both Arsenal and the Metropolitan Police have been hunting for the culprit and may take a look at this video as part of the process.

A police statement read: "The Met is working with Arsenal Football Club to identify the person responsible for an incident where a bottle was thrown onto the pitch during the Arsenal vs Tottenham match on Wednesday, 19 December.

The moment a banana skin is thrown at Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang by a fan not in the picture

Van driver Averof Panteli, 57, threw the piece of fruit when the Gabon captain netted the first of his two goals in the Gunners' 4-2 derby win.

The granddad has already been banned from Tottenham games for life by the club but magistrates also stopped him attending any other games.

Panteli was also told to pay £635 in fines and costs after magistrates uplifted the sum because of the "racial element."

He denied the gesture was racist when he admitted throwing the banana during a court hearing today, but magistrates rejected his claim.

The widower threw the skin, which he picked up after a child nearby finished eating the banana, when Aubameyang netted a penalty in the tenth minute.
