Former Vancouver Canucks captain André Boudrias has passed away.
Boudrias spent six seasons with the Canucks after playing for the Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars, Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues.
According to a statement from the Canadiens, Boudrias died in Whistler, B.C., on Tuesday at the age of 75.
Boudrias racked up 66 points during the Canucks’ first season in 1970-71.
He put up five straight seasons of 60 or more points in Vancouver, including a 30-goal, 40-assist campaign in 1972-73 and a 16-goal, 62-assist season in 1974-75, when the Canucks made their first NHL playoff appearance.
He served as team captain during the 1975-76 season before finishing his playing career with the WHA’s Quebec Nordiques.
He later worked for the Canadiens as a scout and spent 12 years as the team’s assistant general manager.
