  • FRANK LAMPARD has been impressed by Mason Mount already this season.

He said: “His attitude is so good. He is so hungry and very understanding of what needs to be a player. He trains every day with absolute application and focus.

“The two games he's played gives me confident this will be the season for him.”

  • DAVID LUIZ has described joining Arsenal from Chelsea as a “pleasure”.

The Brazilian made his debut for the Gunners in the 2-1 win over Burnley.

After the match, he said: “I'm so happy to be here and try to do my job and also to enjoy with these quality players.

“This team has a lot to do, it can improve a lot and fight for other competitions.

“We're going step-by-step, working hard and it's a pleasure to be here because everybody's humble, everybody wants to learn, everybody wants to improve and we want to make this club shine again.”

  • PAUL MERSON claimed Chelsea should have appointed Brendan Rodgers and NOT Frank Lampard.

Writing for the Daily Star, he said: “There's a lot of pressure on Frank Lampard to get that winning mentality.

“They've lost twice now and conceded six goals which isn't great.

“They need to start well at home, or people will start questioning why they didn't offer Brendan Rodgers the job.

“I've said before I think I think he would have been perfect.”

  • CHELSEA have reportedly placed a £23million price tag on Davide Zappacosta.

Frank Lampard is said to be ready to sell the Italy international before the end of the month.

The 27-year-old penned a four-year deal with the Blues when he joined from Torino in 2017.
