  • AARON WAN-BISSAKA has won the praise of former Manchester United defender Wes Brown who thinks he can “become one of the greats”.

In what has been a difficult start for United in the new Premier League season, Wan-Bissaka has been a shining light.

Speaking to Paddy Power, the 39-year-old now retired footballer said: “He’s been fantastic, probably the one signing for United who has been most consistent.

“He’s started every game, he’s got great athleticism and he’s good in the tackle.

“He’s come from Crystal Palace and people wondered if he’d be good enough for Manchester United and already from the first game it looks like he’s stepping up.

“He’s enjoying it and it’s where he wants to be.

“If he can carry on like that he’s going to be one of the greats in that position.”

  • UNITED target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is set to receive a new Lazio Deal.

II Messaggero report that the Serbian star's new contract will include a buyout clause in excess of £100m.

The 24-year-old emerged as a top target for the Red Devils this summer, but they were unable to lure him away from Italy.

  • FIFA'S top 100-rated players have been revealed – and there is more misery for Manchester United and Chelsea fans.

David De Gea, rated 89, and Paul Pogba at 88 are the only United players to feature in the list.

And it's even worse for their rivals from London.

N'Golo Kante, 89, is the only one of Frank Lampard's troops to hit the top 100.

  • NEMANJA VIDIC has told the tale about Didier Drogba wanting to PUNCH him during a match.

Speaking to The Athletic, the former Manchester United defender said: “Drogba wanted to punch me during the game.

“At first I was thinking: 'What is he doing?' Then I went towards him. I was stupid, so was he. He was sent off.”

But there were no hard feelings when the pair came face-to-face with each other 10 years later.

Vidic added: “I saw him again in Moscow 10 years later during the World Cup. We shook hands and said hello. I respect him as a footballer and man.”

  • GARETH SOUTHGATE has concerns over playing Marcus Rashford as a central striker.

When asked whether the Manchester United forward is inspired by Harry Kane, Southgate said: “There's a little bit of that.

“But also, a little bit, that although we’ve for a long time almost wanted Marcus to be that option as a nine, I’m still not certain that that is where he is happiest and where he does his best work.

“A lot of his development at United was as a ‘wide raider’ and I think he isn’t as strong as Harry with his back to goal and holding play up, so if he plays as a nine, he will play it differently to Harry, but a lot of his best work is in that inside-left channel coming in off the line.

“I don’t think that’s a problem, we just have to be aware that that’s probably his profile to get the best out of him, they’re the areas on the pitch that he needs to get in.”
