ARSENAL powered up the table to third in the Premier League after a 1-0 win at home to Bournemouth.

  • MESUT OZIL is being left out by Unai Emery as the Spaniard believes that Dani Ceballos offers more as a creator for the Gunners.

The German World Cup winner was previously a key figure for Arsenal under Arsene Wenger but has seen his playing time diminish under Emery.

The Arsenal boss has favoured a 4-3-3 formation this season – and football.london claim that there is no natural role for Ozil within the system.

The 30-year-old has played just 142 minutes of football in all competitions this season.

  • MICHAEL OWEN isn't worried about Arsenal's leaky defence – it's Nicolas Pepe who concerns him the most.

The former England and Liverpool striker hasn't been impressed with the Gunners record signing, who joined from Lille in the summer for £72million.

Owen told Premier League Productions: “I think [Pepe] is the only big worry for Arsenal at the moment.

“Things are going pretty well, in the league they are chugging along, in Europe they’re doing fine.

“But [Pepe] was a massive outlay, you’re expecting or almost wanting a guarantee of performance for that type of money.

“It hasn’t happened yet but we all saw him in France, he’s a terrific player.”

  • EX-BAYERN MUNICH boss Ottmar Hitzfeld does not think Arsenal target Thomas Muller will leave the Bundesliga side in January.

He told Goal: “Thomas Muller at another club is hard to imagine for me. He is an absolute identification figure for Bayern.

“He has played there since he was small and has matured into a world-class player, has won many titles.

“But in the end it is his decision if he wants to do something else. You have to respect that.”
