5 reasons the Giants aren’t trading Eli Manning

So who’s next for the New York Giants as their fire sale continues? Everyone wants it to be struggling quarterback Eli Manning.

But here are a few reasons it’s not going to happen.

1. Does anyone really want Manning at this stage in his career?

Even giving up a seventh-rounder seems expensive for a 37-year-old in his 15th season who has lost zip on his fastball and is more prone to dinking and dunking (his 69 percent completion would be a career-high). Is there really a team out there that desperate to pay for the Manning we’ve seen this season? You can throw the Jacksonville Jaguars out there all you want thank to the Tom Coughlin connection … but can you argue he’s better than Blake Bortles at this point? Nope.
