  • LEIP OF FAITH

Ethan Ampadu left Chelsea fans begging for him to return to Stamford Bridge after his masterclass against Spurs.

Incredible statistics show the impact of the 19-year-old during RB Leipzig's 1-0 win in the Champions League.

Ampadu proved his potential as Timo Werner's penalty piled the pressure on Jose Mourinho's injury-hit side.

The Welshman had the most touches of the ball, completed the most passes, made the most interceptions and had the highest pass accuracy of 95 per cent.

He only made one tackle, but Tottenham's attack without Son Heung-min and Harry Kane struggled to test Leipzig's defence.

  • KANT BE SERIOUS

Chelsea are set to be handed a major blow with fears N’Golo Kante could miss FIVE matches with groin injury.

The French midfielder hobbled off after 12 minutes against Manchester United on Monday as the Blues lost 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

According to The Times, initial scans suggest Kante has suffered a small tear in his groin.

The 28-year-old will be out for Chelsea’s hugely important league clash at home against Tottenham on Saturday as well as Bayern Munich’s trip to London on Tuesday in the Champions League.

But things could worsen as the Blues fear the World Cup winner could also miss games against Bournemouth and Everton and then the FA Cup fifth-round tie with Liverpool.

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMY

Many happy returns to the man, the legend, Jimmy Greaves.

The former striker turns 80 today and bagged 124 goals for the Blues between 1957 and 1961.

His record for Chelsea was an astounding goal every 1.27 games.

He then went to AC Milan and smashed in nine in 12 games, before making the switch to Spurs, where he bagged 220 goals in 321 games.

His record for England remains an impressive 44 in 57 games, but we will never know what could have been had he been part of 1966… would the Three Lions have even won?

  • SCOUT'S HONOUR

Chelsea are locking horns with Liverpool in a bid to poach Real Madrid's chief scout Juni Calafat.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has been adamant that he wants to give the brightest youth prospects a chance at Stamford Bridge.

And bringing in a scout of the stature of Calafat would fit in with this ethos.

The Brazilian is seen as a key cog in Real's scouting network, having originally started out heading up their South American acquisitions.

He has brought in the likes of Fede Valverde, Martin Odegaard, Eder Militao, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo.

Now The Telegraph is reporting that Chelsea, along with Merseyside rivals Liverpool and Everton “have been considering trying to poach” 45-year-old Calafat.

  • CASE FOR DEFENCE

Chelsea fans are buzzing that Ethan Ampadu got game time in RB Leipzig's win over Spurs, after getting a buzz of his own.

The Wales midfielder was turned into a defender, as he stood in for suspended Dayot Upamecano in defence.

Graphics show how he played at the back but was allowed to drift forward as part of a back three.

Ampadu's touch map, left, and heat map, right, are revealing.
