ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE has admitted that Arsenal are a “few seasons” away from challenging for big titles.

The French forward, 28, has urged Unai Emery's side to focus on making their return to the Champions League.

Arsenal will not compete in Europe's biggest competition next season after finishing fifth in the Premier League.

During an interview with FourFourTwo, Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stressed the importance of Champions League Football.

Lacazette, 28, said: “A club like Arsenal has to be playing in the Champions League every season.

“We will start to think to think about winning the biggest titles in a few seasons, but first we need to make sure we are in the Champions League consistently again.”

Aubameyang, 30, added: “That has to be the main target of every Arsenal season.

“You come back to training and that's what everyone is thinking about.

“We're hungry to hear that song once again. It's time. We have the quality to do it, so we have to make sure we will do it.”

ARSENAL playmaker Mesut Ozil is “50-51 per cent” likely to join Fenerbahce, Turkish media claim.

It is believed Gunners chiefs are looking to flog the German this summer in order to boost transfer funds.

However, the playmaker's shoddy form throughout the last campaign has led to zero formal approaches coming his way.

But TRT Spor and Sabah journalist Fatih Dogan claim Fenerbahce are weighing up a deal to bring Ozil away from the Emirates on loan.

Dogan reckons Ozil is even money, or just over, to join the Turkish club he has supported since childhood.

He said: “Fenerbahce president Ali Koc is working very hard to sign him.

“For his wages and loan fee, the club are trying to find the sponsors. They are working on it.

“I think it’s going very well. Right now, I can say the possibility is 50-51% positive.”

ALEX IWOBI insists he improved during his first season under Unai Emery.

During an interview with FourFourTwo, he said: “Well, I did beat my goal tally from the season before, played quite a few more big matches and was far more efficient in the final third.

“Experience has been a part of it, but Unai has been a big factor.

“He's had me pushing higher and wider so I can isolate myself against the full-back.

“I always back myself in one-on-one situations, so it's been very effective.”

ARSENAL are set to receive an unlikely transfer budget boost when their former midfielder Ismael Bennacer seals a £14million switch to AC Milan.

Gunners boss Unai Emery was handed just £40m to improve his squad after failing to qualify for the Champions League.

The Serie A giants are nearing the signing of Bennacer, who spent two years in North London before moving to Italian side Empoli.

As part of that deal, Arsenal inserted both a buy-back option as well as a reported 30 per cent sell-on clause for any future transfer.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has now revealed Empoli are close to selling Bennacer to their league rivals for £14m plus add-ons.

The midfielder joined the Gunners in 2015 but made just one senior appearance during a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the League Cup.

While Arsenal haven't exercised their option to resign the 21-year-old, they will net around £4.5m from the sale to Milan.
