After a sorry 1-0 defeat to Newcastle, Ole's men must now prepare for the visit of unbeaten table-toppers Liverpool to Old Trafford – but look set to be without David de Gea and Paul Pogba.

  • NAPOLI owner Aurelio Di Laurentiis admits he will end up selling Man Utd target Kalidou Koulibaly.

That’s despite rejecting a £90m bid for the ace over the summer.

Di Laurentiis said: “I love Koulibaly so I refused the bid. But a time will come when I’ll have to sell him.

“Whoever says we didn’t improve our defence is wrong.”

  • EMRE CAN is reportedly keen on replacing Paul Pogba at Man Utd.

Tuttosport claims the Juventus midfielder is open to an Old Trafford move despite playing for fierce rivals Liverpool.

Can is currently out of favour in Turin and was axed from Maurizio Sarri’s Champions League squad.

Teammate and fellow Juve exile Mario Mandzukic has also been tipped to join United when the January transfer window opens.

  • Sergio Romero actually boasts better Prem stats than David De Gea

  • VIRIGL VAN DIJK has mocked Manchester United by insisting Sunday's clash is NOT Liverpool's biggest game of the season.

Jurgen Klopp's side head into the game on the back of a stunning 100 per cent run of eight wins out of eight in the Premier League.

But Holland centre-half Van Dijk reckons the Champions League matches and those games that can win the Reds the league title are much bigger than the three points on offer at Old Trafford on Sunday.

A whopping 15 points already separate the two teams, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men languishing in 12th.

And Van Dijk added salt to the would when he told Sky Sports: “The whole atmosphere and leading to the actual game is bigger than some other games but I don't think it's the biggest of the season.

“It's massive, but it's more massive for the fans.

“I think all of the Champions League games are as big as this.

“The big ones are the Champions League and the ones that are hopefully going to win us the Premier League title.”

  • OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER is confident he retains the backing of Ed Woodward.

Reports claim the Norwegian is in danger after winning just two league games all season.

But Solskjaer is confident he will remain at the Man Utd helm for some time to come.

Solskjaer said: “I speak to Ed loads, we have a plan and we have made some decisions in the short-term which would harm us but in the long-term benefit us.

“That’s part of the plan, results are always the main thing though and we can move forward quicker with performances.”
