Wetherspoons barmaid lands second job working at circus as ‘pickled person’

A barmaid for Wetherspoons has landed a second job for herself, working at a circus where she'll try to squeeze herself into a bottle as a 'pickled person'.

When she is not pouring bottles at her local pub in Dudley, West Midlands, Jade Morgan will spend her climbing into bottles as part of a circus act.

The 22-year-old barmaid applied to work for the Circus of Horrors after noticing a vacancy for a pickled person with former Britain's Got Talent finalists.

To be a successful pickled person, applicants were told that they must "be flexible" and "not suffer from claustrophobia" and prove they can fit into a 2ft (0.6m) high by 18in (45sm) wide jar.

Jade trained by squeezing herself into small spaces at home such as a washing basket, cupboards, and even a washing machine to practice for her audition.

And Jade – a fan of the Circus of Horrors since her mum took her to see the show when she was 14 – was left delighted when she recently got the £400-a-week job.

Jade can expertly squeeze herself into the jar, including pushing her legs against her torso and having her feet grounded at the bottom.

Despite not having much room in the jar she's still able to move her hands and change her position slightly to wave.

Jade said: "It has been my life-long dream to be in the Circus of Horrors and I finally got the bottle to approach them about getting the job.

"It was a bit scary at first but I got my mum to help me squeeze into tight spaces to practice such as laundry baskets and cupboards.

"It gets easier every time but took a lot of doing to begin with.

"I really enjoy my job at Wetherspoons and I am thankful to my bosses for giving me time off to run away with the circus.
