Marie McAleavey adopted African grey Lucky Angel two years ago when he knew only a few names and phrases.
But the bird has now taken to insulting Mr Trump, inset, ever since he saw him getting off the plane in the UK on Monday.
The political parrot also has strong views on Brexit, regularly squawking “No Brexit” and “May Out”.
Marie, of Newry, Co Down, reckons her potty-mouthed bird picked up phrases after he heard her speaking to relatives in America.
Carer Marie, 51, said: “I also think it’s because he has been hearing his name on TV so much. He was shouting ‘Trump’s a w****r, Trump’s a w****r’ and then ‘Trump get lost’.
“He must know he is still about because yesterday he kept bringing Trump up.” The carer picked up Lucky Angel after spotting him for sale on Gumtree.
She shared her love of Abba with him, taught him to count to seven and then gave him a political awakening.
Marie said: “I would be saying to my friends or on the phone, ‘Oh this Brexit is going to ruin the country’ or ‘I don’t think May knows what she’s doing’. I guess he was taking it all in.”
