Retriever clumsily knocks sleeping owner as he takes over bed

The owner of two gorgeous retrievers was wondering what her dogs get up to when she takes a nap – so set up a secret camera to catch them in action.

Eddie and Ollie, two Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers, love their mum so much they just want to be with her all the time, even when she sleeps.

So Helen Marts-Kesaväli set up a camera above her bed to see what the doggy duo do when she snoozes – and the results were equal parts hilarious and heartwarming.

Four-year-old Eddie – a licensed therapy dog – trots up to the bed and ‘thinks’: “Oh, human asleep. I go sleep too.”

The retriever jumps onto the bed to make himself comfortable, and plonks his fluffy butt straight on his owner’s face as he tries to lie down on the next pillow.

She looks up at the dog lovingly and pats him, but Eddie is unsure what his owner’s issue is, as the overlaying text reads “y u move hooman?”

Helen, who lives in Estonia, returned to her slumber as Eddie rolled onto his back to find the best napping position, with all four paws in the air.

A second retriever, one-year-old Ollie, appears, questioning why Eddie is cuddling Helen without him and squishes in beside the cuddly canine.

The video has racked up over 2.3 million views on TikTok, and viewers have loved snooping on their snoozing antics.

One wrote: “Ma’am you got the most adorable dogs. Give ‘em some treats on my behalf.”

Another added: “You’re lucky. I have four Pyrenees mountain dogs who do this so don’t even have space left in my bed.”

The Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever is often mistaken for small golden retrievers, and are described as ‘intelligent, eager to please, alert, and energetic’.

Their golden cousins are also very popular on the video sharing app, with the hashtag #goldenretriever seeing over 14 billion views.

One curious retriever recently became a social media sensation after snooping on their neighbour through a fence peep hole in her garden.

The breed find themselves on the list of most affectionate and intelligent breeds – traits they appear to share with their ‘toller’ relatives, looking at Helen’s hilarious video.

In another clip, golden retriever Riley was compared to Olympic gymnast Simone Biles for his superb roly polys, whilst Willow tried her paw at a spot of dressage, racking up over 200,000 views in 24 hours.
