The identity of the Kremlin source fuelling the rumours that Russia President Vladimir Putin is dead and has been replaced by a body double has allegedly been revealed – and it is not someone the real Putin would expect.
The Daily Star has been following the bizarre claims that Putin died two weeks ago of a heart attack – something constantly denied by the Kremlin – and conspiracies remain rife of a lookalike replacing him in the seat of power. The double is said to be being managed by Russian Security Chief Nikolai Patrushev – but the Kremlin has denied the story on three occasions, which is very un-Kremlin like.
The source, using Telegram channel General SVR, went on to claim last week that Putin's sex-mad gymnast lover Alina Kabaeva was now under “house arrest” and had lost all of her power.

It was also claimed that she has not been since seen the middle of October at a gymnastics event in Sochi. However, according to expert Professor Anthony Glees – one of the first people to hear of the “credible” rumours of the death, the Kremlin source could actually be none-other-than Kabaeva herself.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, he said: “What first attracted gorgeous Alina to a thin, poker-faced killer? Perhaps that he was president of Russia and perhaps one of the richest men in the world? Now the woman (quite reasonably) being described as being 'full of sex' disappeared from view, last seen at Putin's Summer Palace at Valdai. What could it mean? We can only speculate.

“She's now 40 and perhaps putting on a bit of weight, so fitness freak Putin may have tired of her. But it could be that she was the source of the stories that were circulating the West that Putin was seriously ill and might even be dead.
“If so, and Putin still lives, she'll be off to the salt mines to warn her to keep her mouth shut in future. However, it might be a further indication that all is not well with Putin.

The last confirmed sighting of Kabaeva was on October 22 at a tournament held at her academy. She hasn't been seen since, although she has previously had long periods out of the public eye.
