The sportscar’s online-based emissions estimator will calculate how much to invest in an established climate-friendly project – such as tree-planting projects, wind-farms and solar power – to ‘neutralise’ their CO2 emissions.
Each car sold in the UK – which costs from £93,000 – will come equipped with the new eco feature.
Doing 5,000 miles a year in a new Porsche 911 Carerra 4S with CO2 emissions of 206g per km would mean a cost of £27 to offset roughly two tonnes of CO2.
For 10,000 miles – four tonnes of CO2 – the cost rises to £54, and at 15,000 miles (six tonnes) it increases to £81.
