The footage begins with the plane flying 30,000ft over the US state of Ohio.
Suddenly, a white object speeds through the air below the craft.
It is white in complexion and appears to be shaped like a torpedo.
Raymond Miller posted the clip to YouTube, where he wrote: “I happen to catch this torpedo-looking UFO which, as you can see, has no wings or engines.
“It was heading west very, very fast under the clouds and radar.
“I believe it was in Ohio but I would have to calculate the time that we left California.”
The clip has since been re-posted by popular conspiracy channel secureteam10, where it has racked up more than 200,000 times.
“Possibly some kind of advanced military drone or missile,” one user wrote.
Another commented: “This video is one of the best captures of a ufo in flight – it’s the real deal.”
But others weren’t as convinced, with one saying: “It is just another plane going by.
“I’ve seen this a million times.”
It is not the first time plane passengers have been left stunned after spotting some mysterious sights outside their window.
A man claimed to have seen a craft “splitting into six and vanishing” in the skies.
