A new viral optical illusion can reveal secrets about your personality, a TikToker has claimed.
Your immediate perception of the image, content creator Mia Yilin explained, can show whether you have strong intuition or if you have an independent spirit.
The image can appear as both a penguin and the outline of a man. Those who spot the bird first are said to be independent spirits who crave freedom and autonomy.
Mia said: “If you first saw the penguin, then you are an independent spirit who craves freedom and autonomy.
“You thrive when you have the space to pursue your own interests and goals,’ she explained.
“The content creator added that you can often come across slightly ‘aloof or distant,’ but it’s only because you focus on your alone time.”
If the first thing you spot in the image is the outline of a man, instead, it may mean you have strong intuition and a “sixth sense”.
“Your intuition is off the charts and you can easily sense other people’s emotions and intentions,” she argued.
“But at the same time, you often doubt yourself and seek validation from others, causing you to second-guess your own instincts.”
Optical illusions are very popular among internet users and have become a staple of internet culture, with internet users amusing themselves with playful attempts to learn more about their identity.
Many rushed to the comment section to confirm that Mia was “spot on”, while others were confused as they claimed they saw both images at the same time.
Yilin has shared similar content in the past, challenging people to look at similarly ambiguous images which she claimed can tell whether you’re too stubborn, insecure or have a tendency to procrastinate.
Internet optical illusion games have proved to be a great source of entertainment for a lot of social media users in recent years, turning into a recurring bonding activity on online communities.
While most of the claims made in these videos are rarely backed by science, some memorable examples from the past are still puzzling viewers, offering interesting insights into the mysteries of colour perception and the way the human brain works.

Most internet users will remember a 2015 viral phenomenon centred on a photograph of a dress, with people disagreeing on whether it was black and blue or white and gold.
While the photo did not reveal whether viewers had a sixth sense or a fierce independent spirit, it did shed some light on the differences in human colour perception, becoming the subject of scientific investigations into neuroscience and vision science.
