Michael Jackson alive conspiracy explodes as uncanny lookalike performs moonwalk

A Michael Jackson impersonator that looks almost identical to the man himself has accidentally reignited a conspiracy that the King of Pop is still alive, after sharing his attempt at a moonwalk.

The iconic Thriller superstar, who died in June 2009, would have turned 62 today.

But there are those who outrageously believe he may still be alive, with conspiracy theorists often flooding the comments section of lookalike’s videos asking if they are the real MJ.

Jacko superfan Michael Jackton is one such tribute act. The impersonator has built up a living from performing his icon’s songs and also has the appearance and dance moves to match.

And one recent video shared to his 4 million followers on TikTok has convinced hundreds of conspiracists that he is the real deal.

The clip shows Michael performing MJ’s signature moonwalk in front of an amazed crowd in Times Square, New York City, New York, US.

He pulls off the dance with ease and effortlessly glides across the pavement before spinning around and pointing at the camera.

'MJ alive' conspiracy

  • MJ lookalike urged to get DNA test
  • Fans beg singer to come to UK
  • Jacko's voice 'heard on camera'
  • MJ 'speaks to ghost hunter'
  • Donning one of Jackson’s most iconic outfits – a red shirt, ankle-high black trousers, white socks and black shoes – his comments section was filled with believers in the bonkers theory.

“Yay, he is alive,” one viewer wrote.

Another demanded: “Answer if you are the real Michael Jackson.”

A third said: “Dear God he is alive.”

The impersonator isn’t the only one to have had the conspiracy treatment in the past.

Thai singer Sergio Cortes also sparked a frenzy last year with a series of videos announcing a “new tour”.

Meanwhile, some conspiracists were convinced the singer was spotted working as a wrestler in Brazil.

And Chinese tribute artist Wang Jie – otherwise known as Jackson Wang – went viral earlier this year after footage of him performing on stage was shared online.
