Instagram has CRASHED around the world as irritated users complain of being unable to load pictures on the site

Instagram has crashed for some users around the world as people complain they can not load new pictures on the app. 

The home page displays existing pictures but new content appears, at least for some users, to not be appearing. 

It seems the problem stretches to stories as well, although older stories can still be loaded and viewed.  

Affected areas include Europe, Australia, South America and the mainland US and a smattering of users complain of login and website trouble

Affected areas include Europe, Australia, South America and the mainland US and a smattering of users complain of login and website trouble (seven and five per cent of complaints, respectively).

But the primary issue appears to be with the news feed as 86 per cent of all issues focus on the lack of content loading, according to outage site downdetector.   

This forms the second outage of the last 24 hours for Instagram as a spike in user complaints was also seen around 8pm BST yesterday.

Many disgruntled users took to Twitter to express their frustration at rival site Instagram, with one user using the hashtag #istandwithtwitter 

The constant issues Instagram and parent company Facebook have faced is reflected in the social media posts of its users on Twitter 

Twitter, which is subject to not as many outages as Instagram, was inundated with complaints about the lack of function on Instagram’s news feed 

It is the second outage for Instagram in the last 24 hours as the number of complaints continue to rise since 15:00 BST when it was first reported
