Inside ‘Hobbit home’ featuring incredible medieval interior on sale for £295k

A "Hobbit home" has hit the market bringing a flavour of Middle Earth to the UK for £295,000.

The stunning property is back on the market after it last sold for a flat £100,000, and since then it's received a few updates both inside and out.

From a secret cave basement on the property to a slate of train station signs littering the walls of the home, it would appear the typical terraced home is anything but when venturing inside.

Two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a secret cave basement made of sandstone are all on offer inside the Shropshire-based home.

The home, which was previously owned by renowned artist Anthony Dracup, who died in 2002, features a hand-carved cave which was built up in the mid-90s.

Inside the extension to the home is a lengthy wooden table as well as candle holders and ropes hanging from the ceilings which make for a home fit for Bilbo Baggins.

Further on from the Dracup-carved cave is a ceiling-to-floor piece of artwork and a rustic-style bathroom with brick arches and train station signs.

Those signs are likely due to the positioning of the property, which rests on a railway street and is being re-sold after a £200,000 purchase back in 2016.

The kitchen features a lit-up entryway to the underground cave, while the living room features an old-fashioned telephone and other art pieces and relics of the recent past.

A property description reads: "Dracups Cottage can only be described as a ‘museum’, in homage to the former owner, the eccentric artist Antony Dracup who lived here between 1980 and 2000.

"Located on Railway Street just a short stroll from the bustling High Street and currently used as a high-end holiday let attracting people from all over the world."

An asking price of £295,000 is currently on the property, which features the Hobbit hideaway and an extensive collection of wacky art pieces.
