Incredible footage of sky ‘on fire’ over Florida sparks wild fears of apocalypse

An astonishing sunset caught on camera over Florida sparked the cameraman to fear an impending apocalypse, bizarrely claiming: “Jesus is coming.”

The incredible footage – taken above Pinellas Park in Florida, US – shows the horizon flooded in an awesome orange-pink haze.

It appears the sky is even on fire, with the formation of clouds giving the impression of smoke rising in the distance.

“Whoah, not sure what the heck is going on out there,” the cameraman says.

“I’ve never seen the sky like this. It’s maybe not what it looks like.”

The clip was shared to YouTube on December 5, where the uploader reiterated he had never seen such a sight.

He then added in the caption: “Jesus is coming.”

Viewers were quick to voice their thoughts, with one writing: “This is bizarre.”

Another commented: “Seriously spooky.”

A similarly incredible phenomenon was filmed last month above the Oslo in Norway.

The footage, which has been seen more than 2million times, showed clouds of fiery red covering the low-lying picturesque land.

Like the startling Florida clip, hundreds of viewers have flocked in to share their views.

Bizarre fears were also raised earlier this year of the end of times, after footage surfaced of an apparent “burning sky” .

And some suggested the apocalypse was arriving when a strange “fire rainbow” appeared.

But there was actually a more plausible explanation for the sight over Chiclayo, Peru last year.

The "rainbow of fire" is an optical phenomenon caused by ice crystals in the clouds that are lined up when the sun is around 58 degrees from the horizon.

The line of fire effect seen in Peru is formed when the arc is fragmented.
