Elon Musk may ban Twitter’s beloved Santa tracker after private jet privacy row

Fears are growing over whether Twitter CEO Elon Musk will take action over the Santa Claus tracker after he suspended the account that tracked his private jet.

Citing security concerns for himself and his family, Chief Twit Musk took down the flight tracker that followed his whereabouts.

But the same could occur for the festive sleigh-riding Santa Claus, with the beloved NORAD social media staple potentially in the crosshairs of the SpaceX and Tesla CEO.

Following on from Musk's statement relating to his privacy and the reasons for booting the Musk plane tracker off of the app, some users fear it may be farewell to NORAD.

Taking to Twitter to address the flight tracker, Musk said: "Any account doxxing real-time location info of anyone will be suspended, as it is a physical safety violation.

"This includes posting links to sites with real-time location info. Posting locations someone travelled to on a slightly delayed basis isn't a safety problem, so is ok."

It would appear that the new legislature passed out suddenly by Musk means that Father Christmas is also safe from the "physical safety violation" of NORAD.

Several users passed comment on the subsequent outlawing of NORAD, the North American Aerospace Defense Command that tracks Santa Claus.

Tracking of the fictional being is meant as a lighthearted bit of fun, rather than a way of revealing the location of the red and white-suited Christmas legend to billions around the Earth.

But following the announcement from Musk, some users believe NORAD will have to remove their trackers from Santa's sleigh, with one writing: "the norad santa tracker account is shaking."

Another added: "I hope this doesn't affect my annual posting of the NORAD Santa Tracker…"

Elon Musk is yet to comment on whether or not Twitter users will be allowed to share the active location of Santa Claus.
