Tech expert Elon Musk has warned of a Roman Empire-like collapse and the "fall of civilisation" could be sooner than expected.
Twitter, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Musk warned of a key sign the end of the world could be coming, drawing a comparison to the final days of Julius Caesar's reign.
Said reign saw the assassination of Emperor Caesar and subsequently the fall of the Roman Empire, which Musk fears may happen for modern society should the "issues" crop up again.

He tweeted his worries out in response to a quote regarding the deterioration of Rome, which he pinned to a "casual" problem.
Replying to a tweet regarding the "degeneration of dynasties" like the Roman Empire, Musk worried that "birth rate issues" would lead to the collapse of the world.
He wrote: "Low birthrate is under-appreciated as causal in the fall of civilizations. Rome was having birth rate issues even during the reign of Caesar."
This is not the first time Musk has feared the end of civilisation as we know it, repeatedly weighing in population collapse as the biggest threat to mankind.
Musk, who has 10 children so far, appeared desperately scared of population woes and rallied against the "total nonsense" that could lead to the downfall of the planet just last month.

The Daily Star previously reported his fears, with Musk saying at the time that it was "nonsense" that "fewer kids" are better for the environment.
He hit out at the "nonsense" at a tech expo last month, saying: "Assuming there is a benevolent future with AI, I think the biggest problem the world will face in 20 years is population collapse.
"Some people think that having fewer kids is better for the environment. It's total nonsense. The environment is going to be fine even if we doubled the number of humans."
The SpaceX founder has been adamant on moving the population beyond planet earth, planning for a "multi-planetary species".
Whether that is just for Musk's collection of offspring or for everyone else as well is yet to be seen, but the 51-year-old is adamant that the end is nigh.
He again echoed his worries in January of this year, saying that "population collapse" is a major issue facing the world at this time.
Another chilling statement from the tech titan in August last year saw him brush past global warming and focus in on depleting population numbers.
He wrote: "Population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming."
