A baffled dad has shared a bizarre ranting letter that his daughter received on the first day of a 'nightmare' job.
The father posted a photograph on his account '@essjax' of the strange 11-point list, which was sent to the teen prior to her first day of employment at a retailer in New Zealand.
None of the points raised in the memo relate to expectations of the role, but instead, mostly offer tough criticisms of the younger generation.
The first point on the letter sets the tone by saying “Life is not fair – get used to it!”, while the second line goes deeper as it claims: "The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something before you feel good about yourself.”
Another entry dealt with the difference between education and employment and accused young people of feeling entitled to success.
It read: "Your school may have done away with the winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they will give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life."

A similar point insists that “life is not divided into semesters” and you should learn to "find yourself" on your own time, as most employers will "not be interested" in helping with this.
Other rules on the hard-hitting list advised that “flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity” and encouraged them not to “whine about your mistakes”…
Many on social media were shocked that a boss would think to send this letter to someone who had only just joined the workforce, while others claimed to have seen it in circulation as much as 30 years ago.
One user wrote: “My friend’s parents had this on a poster taped to the toilet door. Memorised it while tinkling as a child.”, while others offered their sympathy to the man's daughter.
Some more attentive readers noticed that a rule which claims that life is different to TV because people “actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to work” appears to be a reference to 1990s sitcom Friends, and said this showed how long the list had been in circulation.
In what is most likely good news, the peeved dad added that the teen had recently left the unnamed store in New Zealand. He also alleged that it had a policy of employing 16-year-olds so as to avoid paying the minimum wage.
