Join the Secret Elves to discover the best shopping deals and things to do this Christmas
Almost everyone dreams of a White Christmas, but one man in Kentucky wanted the snow off his driveway in a hurry.
The ingenious bloke didn't waste time with a shovel and instead pulled out his trusty flamethrower.
Incredible footage shows Timothy Browning from Ashland, near Lexington, US, clearing his drive with style. He smokes a cigar and enjoys a beer as he sprays the flames over the rapidly-melting snow.
The cheeky chap wore just a dressing-gown and a furry hat for the quirky video shot by his wife Beth. She playfully remarks “Browning snow services removal now available!” as she records the moment.
Amused motorists honked their horns as they passed Timothy’s house and dozens of people left comments on his Facebook post to say how impressed they were with his video.
Andrea Evans said she had wanted a flamethrower for quite a while, adding: “And now I really want one!”
“I've always wondered why nobody has come up with a simple way to melt snow,” said Mike Grossman. “It's just frozen water. Seems very inefficient to shovel it into a pile somewhere, when all you need is some heat to turn it into water.”
The brief video clip has collected dozens more comments and likes – with Timothy’s extreme snow-clearing tactics earning him worldwide fame.
Flamethrowers are surprisingly easy to come by. Elon Musk’s Boring Company sold over 20,000 of their $500 (£373) short-range flame units in 2018 alone.
The maverick inventor commented “obviously, a flamethrower is a super terrible idea” and added “definitely don’t buy one … unless you like fun”.
