Bloke marries identical twin sisters in strange ceremony – someone calls police

Police were forced to intervene after two identical twin sisters decided to get married to the same man.

The twins, Pinky and Rinky, are both IT engineers in Mumbai, India.

The pair reportedly decided to marry the same man as they grew up in the same house together and couldn't bear the thought of being apart after marriage.

Their family consented to the bizarre wedding and a suitor, Atul Awtade, was found. The three tied the knot at a ceremony in Maharashtra's Solapur District on Friday (December 2).

According to the Maharashtra Times, Atul grew close to the two women when they were using his car to travel to see their sick mother in hospital.

Before that they had been living with their mother following the death of their father.

Footage from their wedding was shared on social media, but not before it had caught the attention of local authorities.

Police opened a case against Atul given that the marriage contravenes India's penal code.
