A house that is the spitting image of Luke Skywalker's iconic childhood hut from Star Wars has sold for just under £225,000.

The one-storey, three-bedroom home boasts three domed sections, 38 acres of land and its very own solar powered energy generator.

The property, nestled in the mountains of Tonasket in Washington, US, has sci-fi fans swooning over its uncanny resemblance to the Jedi's dome-shaped home on Tatooine.

Some have joked that the quirky decor would make it perfect for a Tatooine farmer's "bachelor pad".

Upper Valley Realty listed the house on property site Zillow for £272,000 back in September, while the site estimated it to be worth £316,200.

It eventually sold for £222,000 on November 23.

The new owner can look forward to an open-plan living room with a sleek vinyl-floored interior, a stone wall feature and floral artwork.

One of the two bathrooms is furnished with an impressive marble-topped sink area, while the spacious kitchen and dining area has wooden furniture and fittings.

The all-in-one wall and roof is painted white and boasts skylights. There is also a heated flooring and a two-car garage.

A Star Wars fan shared the listing on Facebook, where others joked about its resemblance to Skywalker's home and admired the "one-of-a-kind" structure.

One person commented: "Nice! That looks like it has the potential to be the bachelor pad of the swingingest moisture farmer on Tatooine."

Another agreed and said: "Makes me think of Tatooine."

A third joked: "I thought that place burned."

Another, referencing one of Skywalker's iconic lines, asked: "Uncle Owen? Aunt Beru?"

Others were genuinely interested in living in the house.

One commented: "Honestly this has lots of potential. I'd live here."

Another said: "Holy, affordable. I'll take it."

The Zillow listing reads: "Top of the mountain views from this unique home. Energy efficient dome home with radiant floor heating.

"In the event of a power outage, the home is equipped with a backup solar/generator system. Just shy of 40 acres surrounds this one-of-a-kind home. County-maintained road up to your driveway.

"Attached is a two-car garage. Open floor plan has a full kitchen, three bedrooms, and a bath and a half."

The property isn't the only home in the world with striking similarities to Star Wars' Tatooine huts, which were based on real-life structures.

The set was inspired by homes in Tunisia, where architects build dome-shaped huts above pits to keep family homes cool.
